Teeth whitening in Turkey: your questions answered
Everything UK patients ask us about whitening abroad — costs, methods, safety and travel — reviewed by Specialist Prosthodontist Dr. Sadık Taki.
Costs & value
How much does teeth whitening cost in Turkey? +
Professional whitening in Turkey typically costs £90–£250, versus £250–£600 in the UK private sector. In-clinic laser and Zoom whitening sit at the upper end; take-home trays are cheaper.
Why is it so much cheaper than the UK? +
Lower clinic overheads, lower wages and a competitive dental-tourism market — not cheaper materials. The gels and equipment are the same as in the UK.
Is the price all-inclusive? +
At good clinics the fee covers consultation, an oral-health check, the whitening session and often a take-home kit. Confirm what is included before you travel.
Will I still save after flights and a hotel? +
Almost always. Whitening is a single-visit treatment with no return trip, and many clinics include hotel and transfers in a package, so the saving holds up even with travel.
The treatment
What whitening methods are available? +
In-clinic laser/LED whitening, branded Philips Zoom whitening, and dentist-supplied custom take-home trays. Many patients combine an in-clinic session with take-home top-ups.
How many shades will it lift? +
Most patients see a 4–8 shade improvement from in-clinic whitening, depending on their starting shade and the cause of the staining.
How long does treatment take? +
In-clinic laser or Zoom whitening takes about 60–90 minutes in a single visit. Take-home trays whiten gradually over roughly two weeks.
Will whitening change my veneers, crowns or fillings? +
No. Whitening lightens only natural enamel. Existing restorations keep their colour and are matched or replaced separately if needed.
Safety & results
Is teeth whitening safe? +
Yes, when performed by a registered dental professional using regulated gels with gum protection. It does not damage enamel. Risks come from unregulated, over-strength products used without supervision.
Will it make my teeth sensitive? +
Some patients feel mild, temporary sensitivity for 24–48 hours, managed with a desensitising gel. It settles on its own and is not a sign of damage.
How long do results last? +
Typically 6 months to 3 years, depending on diet, smoking and whether you use occasional take-home top-up gels.
Who should avoid whitening? +
Pregnant or breastfeeding women, under-18s (except on clinical advice), and anyone with untreated decay or gum disease until that is resolved.
Travelling to Turkey
Where should I have whitening done? +
Choose an accredited clinic with a registered clinician, an oral-health check and branded gels. For UK patients we recommend Taki Dent in Antalya — 9.8/10, JCI-accredited, led by Dr. Sadık Taki.
How long do I need to stay? +
Two to three nights is plenty for a single-visit whitening treatment, with time to enjoy Antalya. Many clinics include hotel and airport transfers.
Can I get a quote without sharing my details? +
